Cobblestone Construction repairs storm damaged roofs across Utica, Rome, Herkimer, and the Mohawk Valley. We tarp fast to stop water getting in, document every bit of damage for your insurance adjuster, and handle the repair or the full replacement. Powerful storms and tornadoes are not uncommon in this part of New York. Family owned since 1960, GAF Master Elite certified, and every estimate is free.
Tell us about the job and where you are. We will get back to you with an estimate.
Get the roof covered first, then get it documented. Water that keeps coming in after the storm does more damage than the storm did, so tarping is the priority. Photographs and a written assessment come next, because an adjuster works from evidence and the evidence disappears once repairs start.
Severe weather is not unusual here. An EF-2 tornado cut a five mile path through Rome in July 2024 and damaged close to 400 buildings, and Oneida County saw confirmed tornadoes again in 2025. Straight line winds, hail, and falling limbs all leave damage that is easy to miss from the ground and expensive to ignore. We work directly with your insurance company on roof damage claims, from the first inspection through to the finished repair.
Bruised and cracked shingles, often invisible from the ground.
Lifted, creased, and missing shingles after high winds.
Fallen trees and limbs through the deck and rafters.
We tarp fast to stop water while the weather passes.
Photographed and written up for your adjuster.
Top two percent of contractors nationally.
Contact us and we will get out, tarp it if it needs it, and document everything for your claim.
We have been on Mohawk Valley roofs through six decades of ice, hail, and wind, so we know what storm damage looks like here and what an adjuster needs to see. We are also still here after the out of town crews that follow a storm have moved on.

Great job…..they arrived bright and early and worked till dark completed roof in 1 day. Cleaned everything up. We went from metal roof to shingles. All the workers worked very well as a team there was no loafing around they were all hard workers.
I have had them out twice now to replace sections of my roof. Both times they did amazing work. They left the area clean when they were done, even taking extra care around all of the plants as to not damage anything. Great work and communication.
We just got a new roof with this company. Pete and Gina are fantastic. Their financing through Green Sky was quick and easy. Their workers worked really fast and did a great job, all the way to the end with great clean up. They were done in one day.
Straight answers to what homeowners and building owners ask us most. Still not sure about something? Call (315) 733-3106 and a real person will pick up.
Sudden damage from wind, hail, or a fallen tree is generally covered, while wear and tear and age are not. Policies differ, so the deciding factor is usually whether the damage can be tied to a specific weather event. We photograph and document everything so your adjuster has what they need, and we deal with them directly on roof claims. We are roofers rather than your insurer, so your policy and your adjuster have the final say.
Stop the water getting in, then document everything. Call us and we will tarp the roof so the damage does not spread, photograph what the storm did, and put it in writing for your claim. Do not start permanent repairs before the adjuster has seen it, because the evidence goes with them.
Yes, and it is usually the first thing we do, because water coming in after a storm does more damage than the storm did. Tarping goes ahead of scheduled work. Call us and we will tell you on that call when we can be there. After a wide area storm we are working through a list, so the honest answer on timing depends on where you sit in it, and we would rather tell you that than promise a time we cannot hold.
Usually you cannot tell from the ground, which is what makes hail expensive. It leaves bruised spots where the granules have been knocked off and the mat underneath is exposed, and those spots fail months or years later rather than immediately. Dents in gutters, downspouts, or vents are a good sign the roof took a hit too. We get on the roof and check properly.
Yes, on every storm claim we handle. We meet the adjuster at the property where that helps, provide our own photographs and written assessment, and make sure nothing gets missed between what the storm did and what ends up on the estimate.
